Hello, my name is Mayra and my husband’s name is Daniel. My husband and I have both built our lives around caring for others. He’s a police officer who has seen the hardest sides of life and I’m an oncology nurse who has witnessed both the fragility and the resilience of life. For my husband, his hope has been to balance the hardships of his job with the beauty of starting a family and to create moments filled with love, laughter, and peace. And for myself, caring for my patients has taught me what love looks like in its purest form, and I’ve long dreamed of finding that same love reflected in a child of our own. After 3 years of trying to conceive, I experienced the devastating loss of an ectopic pregnancy. Instead of hearing my baby’s heart beat, I instead had surgery to remove my right fallopian tube. It was also discovered that I have endometriosis. It was one of the hardest moments of my life emotionally, physically, and spiritually. But even through all these hardships, I’ve held onto the deep belief that my body and heart are still capable of carrying life. My dream of becoming a mother hasn’t faded but has only grown stronger. And through your help and reading our story, we hope to start our IVF journey and begin this new beautiful chapter in our lives.
